Mark and Alex Pickles run a smallholding halfway up a mountain in North Wales, from where (on a rare clear day) the view includes North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire. On this small holding, we currently have sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, guinea fowl, horses and many dogs. (When I’m feeling brave, I say we have too many horses, but Alex says we have too many chickens!)

Inevitably, running a smallholding goes hand in hand with pest control, for instance we frequently contend with moles and rabbits in the fields, rats and mice in the barn, foxes and rats around the chickens, and in the house we’ve had to deal with squirrels and wasps.

After many years of practicing pest control at home, we thought why not take the professional pest control exams, to expand our experience and knowledge beyond rural pest control. Pickles Pest Control was established to deliver professional pest control services to domestic, business and rural/agricultural customers across North Wales, Cheshire and Shropshire.
